Aamir Khan: "We need to hit back"
Says Aamir, ?A terrorist is someone with a sick mind. who thinks he's doing it for the religion but he's not. We must not have knee jerk reactions. We must not react in haste. Everybody is being affected by terror attacks even Pakistan. We have to hit out at terror camps and bases.?
"We have to react not only as Indians but as an international community. And if need arises then we should go on war."
?I have a very important thing to say to all the people going around arbitrarily throwing accusations at the politicians. These politicians are not from Jupiter or Mars, they are one of us, from our very own society, selected by us through a democratic process.?
Shah Rukh Khan: "Islam does not preach terror"
Says Shah Rukh Khan, ?Nowhere in the Quran does it say that jihad will lead you to jannat. There is an Islam from Allah and very unfortunately, there is an Islam from the Mullahs. I appeal to all of them to please give the youngsters, the right reading of the Quran."
"Being a Muslim myself, I believe youngsters need to understand Islam and respect the religion in the right way. It's such a huge waste and my appeal to all in these times and in recent years is that please can we run what we want in terms of politics, government, jobs and teaching our children with the prime motive of taking communalism out of it. I think no agenda should be attached to any kind of religion."
"Pakistan should clarify whatever issues we have. If we say these guys are from your country, they have been training there and if we have proof, it should also come forward because that country has also been ravaged by similar attacks. I'm assuming they are also suffering from the same organizations. If they can't take charge of the situation they should ask for an outsider, American or India."
Salman Khan: "We need to be very alert"
Says Salman Khan, "I don't know what these terrorists want to achieve by killing innocent people. They don't have any religion. What some handful of trigger-happy people did in Mumbai is against the teachings of Quran."
"We are the 'softest' target for terror attacks. Hundreds of people who work in Mumbai are dependent on the film industry for their livelihoods. They work extremely hard through the days and nights to earn a well-deserved living. Each one is dependant on another. Terror attacks hit us very badly. The industry suffers a lot."
"All those involved in Mumbai carnage were young men. They had been given wrong education since the age of four or five. What could they do? They got into this terrible terror game because they were shown the wrong path since their childhood."
Saif Ali Khan: "I want revenge"
Says Saif Ali Khan, "I too want revenge for what has happened. I know the whole city is baying for Pakistani blood. This is beyond religion. It?s not about India vs. Pakistan. I do feel that to fight Pakistan or to go to war is to play into the hands of the terrorists. This is what they want. We need to unite as a region against this common enemy."
?I think there's no voice of liberal Islam anywhere to be heard today, which is why I choose to express my anguish at what's taking place around us today. We have either the fundamentalist forces or someone blowing up the place. As an Indian and a Muslim, I feel like expressing my condemnation and outright disgust at any party killing innocent people in the name of God, Allah or whatever we choose to call Him.?
"Mumbaikars are resilient! The spirit of Mumbai back on its feet? I am sick and tired of hearing about the spirit of the resilient Mumbaikar. What choice do we have? I really hope we don?t forget this."
