Short Update:
*Radhika asks Dev if he will keep his promise to Dadi and return home for good.
*Dev tells Radhika that he has done what he can for her family and the RP title and she should not expect him to do anymore than this.
*MR takes her anger for Dev out on her long time nemesis Mansaram by refusing to share a 100 acre plot of land with him.
*MR shoots Mansaram in the head, much to shock of her children.
*MR makes it clear to all present in her quarters that anyone who betrays her trust will suffer similar consequences.
*Radhika tries to get Dadi to rest, but Dadi shows her an old family photo album.
*Dadi happily shows Radhika childhood photos of Dev and then asks her to give the PF an heir very soon.
*Radhika tells Vaishali that they all need to give Dev some space and time to adjust to his ife with them. She does not tell Vaishali that Dev's memory is not back yet or that he was pretending to be Dev just to save the RPship.
*Kanika frets that Dev's memory has returned and he is back with Radhika since he attnended the RP function and accepted the RP title. Rajan is secretly pleased by this news.
*Dev returns to MR's mansion and apologizes for having hurt her and broken his promise to her (to never meet Radhika again)
*MR forgives Dev and even grants him permission to live at PB as Dev Raj Purohit for six months until the pending muth work is complete.
*Kanika objects to MR's decision saying that she cannot allow her husband to live with another woman.
Detailed Update:
Part 1:
The episode begins with Radhika stopping Dev at the doorway and asking him, you will keep your promise to Dadima, won't you? You will return? Dev pauses and without looking at Radhika says gently, I have done whatever I can do for your family. Please don't expect me to do more than this. With a small frown on his face, Dev walks out. 'Baware Naina' is playing in the background and Radhika is left standing alone, looking sad.
At MR's mansion, Rajan and Kanika are waiting for their mom and she comes storming in the living room with her body guards behind her. She is one angry lady and is practically shooting daggers at her kids with her looks. Rajan informs MR that Mansaram is here and is waiting in her meeting quarters. He explains to MR that Mansaram is not here to fight but rather to apologize. MR gives Rajan a dirty look then storms off in the direction of her room. Rajan comments to Kanika that MR looks a bit too calm and it is like the calm before a big storm. Kanika frets that what if MR found out about Abhay really being Dev and not being Kanika's husband? Rajan pacifies his sister, but inwardly hopes that MR has indeed found out the truth about Abhay. He tells Kanika they should go spy on MR and see what is going on in her quarters. In MR's room she takes her place on her pedestal and asks Mansaram what he wants. Mansaram tells her there has already been too much bloodshed and he wants to end their fight right now. He talks about 100 acres of land that he and MR have been fighting over for two years and tells MR he wants to make a decision about that land today itself. MR coldly says, o.k., here is the decision: that plot of land is mine! Now get lost! Mansaram refuses to leave until a proper decision has been reached and offers to equally split the land with MR. MR flips out and says, Enough! I can tolerate anything but I cannot tolerate it when someone disobeys me! Rajan and Kanika enter the room as MR continues to speak: Someone promises me that he will not meet Radhika again and then blatantly disobeys me and meets her? How can I tolerate that? Poor Mansaram says, Arre who is this Radhika? What are you talking about? MR shouts at him, it doesn't matter who is Radhika, the point is, I will not spare anyone who disobeys me or breaks a promise to me! Kanika looks nervously at Rajan. MR says, in my home even my dog does not wag his tail without my permission...so you tell me Mansaram, what am I to do with someone who breaks a promise to me? Mansaram is frustrated now and says, look MR, all I'm saying is that you take half the plot, I'll take the other half and we'll end this battle right here right now. MR screams that she will not give Mansaram even a needle point's size of land what to speak of half. She exclaims, I gave you respect Mansaram, and made you capable of walking around society with pride and status and you betrayed me!
Part 2:
Mansaram tells MR, look I don't know what you are talking about, but I'm just here to do business. All I'm asking is for you to get my land issue squared away and then you can be done with me. MR gets up from her platform seat and walks over to Mansaram. She glares at him and says, yes...it has indeed become necessary to be done with you. I will give you exactly what you deserve. She takes her seat again and asks Hanuman to go retrieve a garland of flowers for Mansaram. Then she asks Mansaram if he would like some refreshments. Mansaram smiles and refuses, saying all this, plus the flower garland is not necessary. He just wants his share of the land then he will go away peacefully. MR says, oh yes, it is very necessary. I will respectfully give you what you deserve. She takes the flower garland from the basket that Hanuman has brought her and then takes a pistol that is hidden underneath the flowers and suddenly pumps two bullets into Mansaram's head, shooting him dead. Kanika is shocked and disgusted and shuts her eyes with a pained expression on her face. Rajan just stares at his mom, aware of her destructive capabilities and all the more eager to get on her good side. MR replaces the gun in the basket and then throws the flower garland on top of Mansaram's dead body. She orders Hanuman to get the room cleaned up and have Mansaram's body dumped at a cremation ground. Then she leaves the room while Kanika and Rajan stare after her.
At PB, it is a stormy night and Radhika is settling Dadi into bed and giving her her medicines. She urges Dadi to sleep since she did not rest all day. Dadi tells her CB that she is not at all sleepy or tired and requests Radhika to sit with her for a while. Radhika still tries to get Dadi to rest, and Dadi says, what's the matter CB? Are you sick of your old granny already? Radhika replies, no Dadi, whay are you saying that? I just want you to rest because your doctor told me that complete rest is essential for your full recovery. Dadi smiles and says, CB you sit here a moment, I want to show you something important...my most cherished memories. Dadi pulls out an album from underneath her pillow and complains that Chachoo and Arjun threw out all of her belongings but luckily they did not touch this album. She gives it to Radhika to look at and Radhika opens it to see photos of a small boy. She asks Dadi who it is.
Part 3:
Dadi tells Radhika to look at the photos closely. Radhika does so but is still confused. Dadi smiles and says, these photos are of our Dev when he was a small child. Radhika smiles. As Radhika flips the album pages, we see photos of a younger Vaishali holding Dev as a child (I was looking to see if these pics were Avi's real childhood pics, but I don't think they were. LOL). Dadi says, look CB, everything is alright now. Dev is with us once again and his RPship has been restored too. Now I have only one more wish which I want you to fullfill before I die. I want you and Dev to make me a great-grandmother. Radhika's smile fades and she looks very, very sad. Cry Dadi holds Radhika's chin and says sweetly, CB, when will you show me my great-grandson's face? I'm sure he will look like my Dev did when he was a child. Radhika is deep in thought. Dadi mistakens this for shyness and teases Radhika. Radhika manages a weak smile and tells Dadi to please take rest. Dadi finally agrees but requests Radhika to remember her promise. Radhika puts Dadi into bed, pulls the covers over her, and turns off the light. As she is leaving Dadi's room she runs into Vaishali (who is back in her sparkly pastel sarees and pearls Smile). Vaish sees that Radhika looks dejected and asks her what's wrong. Radhika tries to pretend everything is fine, but Vaishali doesn't believe her and questions why she looks so sad and where Dev has gone in the middle of the night. Radhika tells Vaish that Dev has gone for some important work. Vaish doubts what Radhika is saying, but Radhika requests her to be patient with Dev and says, we should try to understand his circumstances. He had been away from us for five years, and in those five years he lived a whole different life in a different place. Even though he is back with us he cannot forget those five years so easily. We need to give him time to become acclimated to us and to his surroundings again. It will take some time for everything to become fully normal again. Vaishali sighs and says, yes perhaps you are right CB. After Vaishali leaves, Radhika cries silently.
At MR's mansion, siblings Kanika and Rajan are talking. Kanika tearfully tells her brother that Hanuman told her that Abhay was not only present at the RP ceremony in Delhi, but that he accpeted the RPship and acknowledged being Radhika's husband. Rajan is happy to hear this, but feigns concern for Kanika and pretends to be as devastated as she is. Kanika is fearful that MR will find out about Abhay being Dev and Rajan inwardly hopes MR learns the truth and kills Abhay. He tells himself, how nice it will be if mom puts a flower garland on that orphan Abhay and I carry his dead body to the crematorium myself! Suddenly Rajan and Kanika hear a car horn and look outside the window to see Dev pull up in a white car. As he enters the doorway, Rajan tells his sister, lets go and see what Mom says to Abhay. Kanika refuses to go, saying that she's very afraid of what their mom will do. Rajan drags her along and says, don't worry, I am here, mom won't say anything to you. Dev (still dressed in his RP outfit) enters the corridor to MR's room and walks towards her door. (Look for the blooper here...one moment Dev is wearing chappals as the camera zooms in on his feet, the next minute the chappals are gone while he's still walking! LOL) MR is shown in her quarters looking very grave. She glances at a basket of flower garlands next to her. Dev enters the room, followed by Kanika and Rajan who hide behind the curtain. Dev offers MR his pranams but she remains silent and does not bless him like usual. Dev tells her it was not his intention to hurt her or Kanika in any way.
Part 4:
Dev tells MR, you all are my family and always will be. Kanika breathes a sigh of relief while Rajan is very disappointed that Dev's memory is not back yet. He mutters to himself, damn it, just when I think my luck is turning in my favour something happens to thwart my plans! C'mom mom, before this orphan sweet-talks you again, put that garland around his neck and end his pathetic life! Dev tells MR, I know you forbade me from even looking at Radhika's face and despite that, I still disobeyed you and went to meet her. For this I am very sorry and ask you to please forgive me. I don't know why I felt as though I should help Radhika and her family get their rights back. With this thought in mind I went to Delhi to help them. Here overconfident Kanika drags Rajan into the room as if they are entering for the first time and were not listening at the door before. MR is still stone-faced and Hanuman is sneering. Dev says, I don't know or remember how and why I went to Delhi, but I did. I know I have upset you terribly and I am ready to face any punishment you give me. MR gets up from her seat without saying a word and reaches her hand into the basket containing the flower garland, as Kanika looks on in horror and Rajan in joy. Suddenly MR closes her hand and moves it away from the basket. Instead she places her hand on Dev's head in blessing and forgiveness. MR says, after much thought and consideration, I have come to the conclusion that whatever you did was correct. If you had told me before that Radhika requested you to pretend to be her husband in order to save the PF's RP title, I would not have stopped you from meeting her. You have protected dharma and prevented bad people from taking advantage of it, for this I am proud of you. Hearing his mother speak this way to Dev, Rajan is furious. MR invites Dev to sit and then asks him what he's thinking about. Dev replies that he feels he made a big mistake by agreeing to help Radhika because now the PF wants him to stay with them and fullfill all family and RP duties. Here Rajan's ears perk up again and he begins thinking of a new plan. Dev says, I will have to go to the muth everyday for six months and complete all the pending work there, which I don't think is possible for me to do. MR interupts, why is it not possible for you? You are a protector of dharma, so you should definiately finish this work to ensure that no harm comes to the PF's rights. You have my permission to stay at PB and help the family. I have no objection. Kanika speaks up and says, but I have an objection mom! I cannot tolerate my husband living with another woman right beneath my eyes (well well Chipkoo, the tables have turned on you, haven't they? YOU were the one living illegitimately with someone else's husband for five years and lying through your teeth about it! Now here is your punishment. Dev belongs with his WIFE Radhika, not with you, so shut up!) Episode ends on Dev's pensive expression.
Precap: Dev is lying in a chaise (still dressed in his RP clothes) and looking at Radhika's paayal. At PB, Radhika is standing on a verandah under a full moon looking at the other paayal. 'Baware Naina' is playing in the background.
Comments: Well today we saw MR's true colours. She is no longer a grey character, but rather a vicious, cold-blooded killer.
I dislike Abhay more and more with each passing day. My patience with this character is running out even though Avi is doing a fabulous job. I don't like Abhay's weird mood swings and guilt trips. I know he is struggling with his mind's inner conflicts but I am sick of this track. I just want Dev back full time!
Somehow I knew MR would forgive her "damaad babu" and even encourage him to go live with Radhika. I don't like the insinuation that Radhika is "the other woman", when in actuality, it's Kanika. I really, really hope that MR doesn't make Dev take Kanika and Deepu with him to live at PB! Gosh, that would be a total disaster. Then Radhika would have to lie to Dadi and the family and tell them that Kanika is a friend of hers from Agra and she and her son need a place to stay! Ugh! No CVs, PLEASE do not even go there!!! Lets hope Dev sees Radhika's other paayal very soon and puts two and two together!
