Musical bonding of Swanand Kirkire and Shantanu Moitra in MTV Coke Studio
After working with each other on ‘Hazaron Khawishey Aisi’, Swanand Kirkire and Shantanu Moitra have joined hands together to create a musical feast on Coke Studio@MTV. Both the singers share a strong bond and have their share of fights like brothers would quarrel. This amazing bond always gets them together and this time on Coke Studio@MTV season 2 they continue to be a foil for each other in their musical extravaganza.
Swanand is one of the most sought after lyricists in the country, and he enjoys the process of writing. Not many know that Swanand writes his lyrics in the restroom, as he believes the stillness of the place helps his creativity. He also refers to a 100-year-old book from which he derives inspiration for his lyrics.
On this episode of Coke Studio@MTV, Swanand wrote the lyrics for ‘Pinjra’ and ‘Lagi Lagi’, along with lending his voice for ‘Lagi Lagi’. The song ‘Pinjra’ is Swanand’s homage to Kabir. It talks about how the human soul is inundated with evils, but when they get the better of you, one should just give the Almighty a call. The other song ‘Lagi Lagi’ is a love song about a girl who has fallen in love with the moon.
