Diya Aur Baati Hum to complete 200 episodes tonight
Star Plus’ show Diya Aur Baati Hum (produced by Shashi-Sumeet Mittal Productions Pvt Ltd) has been ruling the roost on the TRP chart for weeks now. It has consistently managed to maintain its numero uno position. Audience seems to love the chemistry between Sooraj (Anas Rashid) and Sandhya (Deepika Singh).
Now, the show is all set to add another feather in its cap by completing 200 successful episodes. Yes, after the airing of tonight’s (28 May 2012) sequence, the cast and crew can boast and thump their chests lauding such an incredible achievement. To commemorate the feat, the production house has organized a small cake cutting ceremony on the sets in the evening wherein media had also been invited.
We contacted Anas Rashid, he shared with , “I am happy that we are touching 200 episodes. I still remember the time when we completed 100 episodes and since then time seem to have flown. I am glad to be associated with the show.”
He continued, “I waited too long for the project to go on air. People thought I am acting like Aamir Khan or I have been bribed by the production house. But now I can say that the entire wait has been worth it. It has been amazing working with the cast and crew of Diya Aur Baati.”
Producer Sumeet Mittal sounded equally elated, “Naturally, it feels great. Every programme is like a baby to us and as it grows, that too staying at number one position, then one does feel proud. Diya Aur Baati Hum is a very different concept, but from the beginning I and Shashi (wife and co producer) were sure that viewers will like it. And we have a very good team- from artist to our technicians and all of them have put in a lot of hard work.”
