IPL has not affected the success of Gutur Gu, claims its actors
IPL season 5 is on with a full swing with each team battling their guts out to make it to the top four on the points table. Now, whenever this super-hyped cricketseason is on, it does impact the shows running on different GECs and numbers plummet like a house of cards. DJ’s A Creative Unit’s show, I Luv My India, airing on SAB TV has already bit the dust but actors of Fireworks Productions’ show Gutur Gu on the same channel are in a pretty optimistic frame of mind.
They are of the opinion that their show will not succumb under the onslaught of cricketing fever.
Furthermore, in between we had reports that this silent comedy is up for change in terms of plot but finally the makers decided not to bring in the change, sticking to the original mode of functioning.
“The success of Gutur Gu lies on a lot of factors. Firstly, it’s a weekly and viewers have something fresh to see every week. There are many variations to watch out for in the show and I don’t think IPL has affected it in anyways. Viewers still love it,” says actor Kunal Kumar, who plays Ballu Kumar.
On the other hand, Bhavna Balsawer aka Mrs Babita Kumar shares, “The show is doing really well and it is unique and interesting. We connect to the viewers and we have loyal audiences who watch our show irrespective of other happenings on television.”
Hmm…hope that Gutur Gu magic continues for a long time…
