MUMBAI: Zee TV, which has lost its second position to Colors, is planning to regain its rank with a lineup of differentiated content.
The latest in the offering is a family game show,
Wheel Ghar Ghar Mein’ – Fursat Ke Lamhe, which will replace the fiction-based show Maa… Dhoop Mein Thandi Chaav.
Wheel Ghar Ghar Mein, which is an in-house production, will start airing from 20 April at the 7 pm band. Airing between Monday-Friday, the format of the show is similar to that of Home Minister, a highly-rated Zee Marathi show.
Maa, launched on 12 January, is being pulled out as it failed to garner TRPs.
Says Zeel COO – national channel and Zee TV business head Nitin Vaidya, “As a channel we always imbibe learning from across the network to create successful shows. Like we translated success in the Hindi GEC with Dance India Dance, we are now launching ‘Wheel Ghar Ghar Mein’. Our basic endeavour is to help the families spend good time together and experience their strong bonding which is a rare concept in today’s fast paced lifestyle. Also the show will provide us with a platform to connect directly with our audiences while we witness their real emotions and excitement."
The new show is a competition between two families who will be asked questions that gets tougher as the rounds progress. Each family will have one anchor by their side, Manish Paul (ex Zee Muzic VJ) and Vipul Roy (Saregamapa spotlight anchor).
“We are traveling through the length the breadth of the country and are picking people from various cultures and traditions. What has emerged so far is a beautiful lattice work of incredible India! Also noteworthy is the fact that we have a segment on home remedies in the show for which we have set up a local panel in each city. This panel will consist of people from various fields who are known names in travel, healthcare, medicine, beauty, lifestyle etc. These quick tips are sure to be found very useful by our viewers,” Vaidya added.
The show will have daily winners in each episode, along with a mega winner every week. The mega winner will be amongst the families who have been competing with each other through the week. The daily winners get to take home cash prizes, sarees, a gift hamper from Wheel and other gifts while the weekly winners get the opportunity of winning gold to the amount proportionate to their body weight and a holiday package worth Rs 100,000, in addition to their daily prize.
