Star Plus and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are looking for a known face to replace Jennifer Winget in Saraswatichandra

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s big budget show on Star Plus has been in news over the past few days with the sudden development of its female protagonist Jennifer Winget opting out of the project. As reported by a certain section of the media, Jennifer has opted out citing that she is not comfortable with certain clauses mentioned in her contract.

And with this, the channel and production house are looking for a known face to play the lead. So who are the pretty ladies of television who have been approached?

Well, a reliable source states that Sara Khan, Shraddha Nigam, Sanjeeda Sheikh and Barkha Bishta are some of the ladies who have given their look test for the role. Sanjeeda, as TV buffs would know, has shot for a pilot of Cinevistaas’s upcoming show for Star Plus, titled Daag with Vatsal Seth, and the channel will take the final call on whether Sanjeeda suits the lead role in Saraswatichandra better. Having said this, our source insists that Barkha Bisht who came into the limelight with Star Plus’ Pyaar Ke Do Naam.. Ek Radha Ek Shyam has a brighter chance of bagging the role. However, the channel is yet to take a final decision.

Meanwhile, the shoot for Saraswatichandra will commence soon in Mumbai as the three storey huge set is all ready. The unit will be shooting some continuation scenes of the Dubai schedule, with the male lead Gautam Rode and his family.

We tried contacting Barkha Bishta and Sanjeeda, but they remained unavailable.
