Asha Bhosle hogs the limelight in Sur-Kshetra press conference
On 20 August, the media had reported that a political party had warned songstress Asha Bhosle against sharing screen space with a Pakistani vocalist on the platform of Colorsí and Sahara Oneís music-based reality show Sur-Kshetra, because it felt that it was improper to share the stage with someone from Pakistan that was harbouring terrorists who were targeting India.
Through a press conference organized by the channels (Colors and Sahara One), Asha tai, as she is lovingly called, sought to clarify her position. Though the channels remained tight lipped on the issue, Asha tai cleared herself by starting off exclaiming, ďI love Raj Thackeray!Ē
This single sentence created a pin drop silence among the media and those attending the event. She went to add that since she was not into politics, she was aloof of such issues. According to her, music doesnít have borders and should be treated divine.
Apart from her breaking comments, Asha tai, in a good mood like never before, cracked a lot of jokes on her Pakistani co-judge Abida Parveen which set those present on a laughing spree. In short, it can be said that Asha tai showed some glimpse of an actress in her.
If sources are to be believed, the press conference was hurriedly wrapped up because of a threat that the authorities received.
All in all, we appreciate Asha taiís sporting spirit.
