Shantanu Maheshwari "wants to avoid saas bahu league for the moment"

Young, handsome and talented Shantanu Maheshwari is quite happy with the way his character is framing up in Channel V’s Dil Dostii Dance. This Kolkata born lad said, “One of the main reasons for the show’s success is the combination of youth and dance, which has never been tried before on Indian television. We promise our fans more fun and dance in the future as well.”

When asked about his mass female fan following, Shantunu blushed and said, “It feels great but yes this success and adulation has taking time to sink in.”

Coming to dance which is main stay of this Cinevistaas production Shantanu who has not taken any proper education in the craft shared that “he loves to shake a leg”.

“Bollywood is my favourite dance genre. I would love to take part in Colors’ Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa next year as there choreographers get paid to indulge in their passion for hours and actors who don’t know how to dance can learn.”

Looking ahead this good looking actor wants to do more youth based projects. “I will want to avoid saas bahu league for the moment.”

So is acting an easy deal? “It seems very easy from the outside, but anybody who enters a set knows it’s not.” He also accepts that the TV world is different. “When I would watch shows before entering the trade and I would see the daily show leads wearing jeans outside, it would seem odd.”

Like all actors, Bollywood too is on Shantanu’s radar. “I would love to act in a film with Katrina Kaif. She is very good looking. Will Salman Khan not beat you to pulp? “No, he is our bhai,” he grinned in closing.
